As our inability to be in the same room as an open packet of cashew nuts without scoffing the lot attests, once you start some things, it’s hard to stop. Fashion designer Matthew Williamson clearly suffers from the same affliction — but it’s making clothes for men, rather than eating salty snacks, that seems to be his weakness.

During the course of his 13-year career, Williamson has almost exclusively designed for women, but having dabbled with men’s fashion for H&M in 2009 and Harrods last year, he’s about to unleash his first full menswear range with a hefty 40 styles.

Influenced by a bohemian look, the designer’s trademark bold prints have been co-opted into tailored shirts, scarves and bold jacquard knit cardigans, alongside an abundance of dickie bows and drop-crotch trousers.

The focus is on unfussy essentials with a dash of glamour, but the prices aren’t quite so bohemian. Jeans start at £195, shirts at £295, and it all peaks with a £1,495 washed-leather flight jacket. The range is available now from Harrods and Williamson’s London store.
