Lambretta celebrates heritage with four new helmets

Attempting to decipher the lexicon of cool can be a fairly thankless task at times – and believe us, we’ve tried. No sooner does some achingly trendy über hipster declare something to be bang on trend, than another comes along to decry it as passé and the epitome of mediocrity.

No, we’re much more comfortable with timeless style, and in our book style doesn’t get much more durable than a Lambretta scooter. Popularized by the Italian-loving mods of the early sixties, the Lambretta has gone on to rightfully attain iconic status.

So imagine how giddy we got when we first clapped eyes on these new limited edition Lambretta helmets. Designed by Heritage Helmets in the UK (and manufactured in Italy by Project SRI), there are four different open-faced helmets to choose from – each unapologetically making a virtue of the Milan-based company’s distinguished history.

The Bianco and Nero pay homage to the Lambretta’s 1947 birth and its central position within the mod movement; the Union speaks directly to its special relationship with the UK, while the Britalia combines the Italian Tricolore flag and our very own Union Jack.

Priced at £120 until the end of November, we’d advise snapping up one of these corkers immediately. Or subito as our Italian cousins would have it.
