adidas & Jeremy Scott's "Dark Knight" Wings Trainer

"Jeremy who?" You know, Jeremy Scott - the American fashion designer? One of the real-life inspirations behind Will Ferrell's Mugatu in Zoolander? Wears loud clothes? Never has a normal hair cut?

Don't worry, you're in good company. We had no idea who Scott was either, until in 2008 he announced himself to us uncultured fashion browsers with a head-turning adidas collaboration. The collection of winged high tops and teddy bear court shoes were bonkers and brilliant in equal measure - resembling a fortunate mix up between a toy factory and trainer maker. Having continued to befuddle sneaker lovers with subsequent releases, this autumn's line up includes something a bit special.

The third iteration of his Wings high top, the JS Wings 3.0 look set to be an instant (if impractical) classic. Seemingly stolen from the trainer rack of the Batcave, the shoes are based around a synthetic leather high top, polished to a gleaming patent finish. Wrapping over the laces and around the offside of the this immensely unconventional shoe is a set of 3D sculpted wings, giving them the appearance of a Gothic Achilles.  A removable neoprene inner sock adds just about the only practical aspect of the trainer.

Set to arrive in select adidas stores and high end retailers on 31 October, don't expect too much change out of £200 for these incredible shoes.
