Luxury tailor Nick Hart creates AR RED range for Austin Reed

Given his impeccable sartorial record, Benedict Cumberbatch could well saunter around a red carpet in his birthday suit and not be thought of any less.

But that’s beside the point. The man was born to wear high-end formal attire. And now, with news that Nick Hart – a Savile Row tailor favoured by Cumberbatch – has made an affordable range exclusively for Austin Reed, you can replicate the actor’s style at a snip of the price.

Taking inspiration from the British jazz, soul and funk scene of the Seventies and Eighties (round- collared shirts and slim ties in particular), the one-off collection pairs an evocative sharpness of yesteryear with the tailoring hallmarks that have made Hart a celebrity favourite.

His biggest signature trademarks are the peak and shawl lapels cut with a couturier fit, noticeable on the slim-fit suit in statement teal and a three-piece dress suit with black satin lapels (both starting from £399).

If that wasn’t tempting enough, Hart has also crafted accessories such as dark ties and silk scarves (from £39) to help you capture Cumberbatch’s look. Failing that, there’s always cheekbone implants.
