Fancy winning the new Volvo V40 R-Design? Of course you do. It’s a new direction for Volvo, having been designed with more “want” than “should”. But here at ShortList, instead of just giving one away, we want to find out which one of you desires it the most. Which is why we’ve teamed up with Volvo and our columnist Danny Wallace to launch Volvo Commuter Hijack, a thrilling new campaign to prove that “I want” sometimes gets.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll recruit five readers via volvocommuterhijack.com. If successful, it’s your mission to stage the most adventurous and entertaining day imaginable. To aid you in your quest, at your disposal you’ll have the all-new Volvo V40 R-Design, £5,000, Danny in the passenger seat and a team at ShortList HQ armed with contacts. There’s a catch: you can’t just buy anything. You have to spend the money on experiences or something consumable.
Each day will be filmed, with the videos posted online. Whoever is deemed to have had the most amazing and entertaining daywill win the car. The video with the most online votes wins. To enter, simply visit volvocommuterhijack.com, put in your details and cross your fingers. It’s that simple.
If you’re successful, you might want to keep an eye out for Danny on your way into work over the coming weeks. Because he could be bundling you into the new Volvo V40 R-Design – and then it’s all down to you how to spend the money.
Will Danny be coming to a city near you? This is where and when the Volvo Commuter Hijack is taking place:
London 11 March
Cardiff 14 March
Leeds 20 March
Edinburgh 25 March
London 27 March
And remember: you have to make the day as entertaining and memorable as possible. While spending the day in the car would be entirely enjoyable for you, it might not make for a great video. So think big. Perhaps you’ve always fancied jet packing, playing the bagpipes or something else that money can’t buy? And with Danny, a film crew, ShortList on the phone and £5,000, who knows what doors will be opened to you?
The only limit is your imagination. Remember: “I want” sometimes gets.
