In the wake of last week’s nationwide riots, police in Essex have arrested a man for attempting to arrange a mass water fight via the controversial Blackberry Messenger service, which was heavily used in organising the outbreaks of violence and looting, and Facebook.
The unnamed ‘hoodlum’ has been charged with “encouraging or assisting in the commission of an offence” under the 2007 Serious Crime Act. He will appear before magistrates next month.
