Watch The Sun Set On Mars

Watch The Sun Set On Mars
24 February 2015

If you're one of the five Britons shortlisted to go on NASA's Mars One mission, you might be a bit apprehensive.

If selected, there's a good chance you will never return home. Plus, you've grown up seeing films like Mission To Mars, Total Recall and Ghosts Of Mars which spell out the perils of the Red Planet quite clearly. Worst case: you die. Best case: you get three boobs. It's not going to be pretty.

However, potential Martian settlers have now been given a sneak preview of what life might be like at their new home. NASA has put together this short video, knitting together photos from the Opportunity rover (taken in 2010) to show what goes down when the sun goes down on Mars.

Turns out it's not as red as you might think. Hey, Mars One crew, maybe you won't all die horribly after all?
