Without ejector seats, James Bond would have died a horrible fiery death many years ago.

So for that alone, we ought to be thankful and respectful of their progress.

We also have a vested interest because we find them really cool and someday, once we've graduated from spy school, we'd like to give one a try.

The F-35 Lightning II has been undergoing ejector seat trials of late and this video gives us a glimpse of its success. In replacing the iconic Harrier, the new stealth fighter jet has a lot to live up to but the 600mph trials have shown that it's a fitting successor.
