VIDEO: Swimming with jellyfish

Our very limited experience of jellyfish consists of that one time where we we almost stepped on one, that scene in Sphere where Queen Latifah gets murderlised by a pack of them and that ever-present knowledge that a sting is easily cured with urine.

We're pretty aware that they're not creatures we'd like to spend massive amounts of quality time with though. So, massive, on-our-knees-worshipping, kudos to Sarosh Jacob.

The brave filmmaker visited Jellyfish Lake, located in the Republic of Pelau, and captured the experience on his Canon 5D camera.

You're probably wondering why he isn't thrashing about in pain, but the two species of jellyfish that reside in the lake only boast very gentle stinging cells which don't cause much harm to humans. Just a light sensation on sensitive areas. Thankfully, he's wearing his Speedos.
