VIDEO: Southern lights captured from space

There's a certain shade of green that's associated with otherworldly evil. You probably had a t-shirt of a similar shade back in the early 90s. We might have.

After we saw what an orbit of the earth would look like earlier in the week, we've been treated to another video which shows up some rather suspicious green lights above our vulnerable planet.

While our minds immediately went into Independence Day-fuelled panic, we settled slightly after discovering that the eerie effect was actually down to the Southern Lights, known as the aurora australis. They graced Eastern Australia earlier this month, just as the ISS was passing over.

So, it's reassuringly normal. You can stop maniacally building that underground bunker now.
