These tourist observations of London will make you forget how rubbish it can be

If you live in London it can sometimes be quite difficult to see past the traffic, the noise, the weather, Oxford Street and still appreciate its good points.

But when someone from another country comes to visit they notice things we've all long since forgotten about.

A recent Quora thread with the (very un-British) title "What are some unique things that tourists notice when they travel to London?” gives us grumpy lot an insight into how people from other countries see our capital.

It’s almost enough to make you appreciate the Big Smoke.

Manan Nayak

Cosmopolitan and free museums, not too shabby.

Matt Jordan

Matt is amazed by our fetching fabric Tube seat covers. But is it actually a good thing they're fabric? Sounds a tad less hygienic than plastic. Harder to, er, wipe.

Derek Brown

Why is Derek so impressed with our reading habits on the Tube? It's either The Metro or someone else's Standard.

Rick Rhay

We've got great pub names and you can stand outside drinking. Pure Luxury.

Rajya

Rajya's right, the greenery and parks are rare and great. Make the most of them.
