The Wikipedia Review Of 2014

18 December 2014

How's that personal Wikipedia page coming along? Managed to add all of your swimming badges yet? By the time you've finished, it'll be one of the three million pages added to the free encyclopedia in 2014 alone.

Jumping on the yearly roundup bandwagon, Wikipedia has compiled its first annual review video. Titled #Edit2014, the short recap slides with terrifying speed through significant events like the Ebola outbreak, Scottish referendum, notable deaths and mind-blowing scientific achievements.

More than 100 million edits were made to the site (someone kept correcting our efforts to describe England's World Cup bid a "laughable calamity"), which notably omits its own failed efforts to create a print edition of the English version of the site.

Grab a cup of something warm, take a seat and prepare to realise just how much of the past 11 and a bit months you've already forgotten.
