The most sexist advert ever?

If Mad Men has taught us anything, other than how much we still want to be Don Draper, it's that women were deemed pretty much useless 50 years ago.

Able to concentrate briefly on their nails and/or making meatloaf, any substantial task was clearly beyond their limited capabilities. This advert is a real world reminder of just how women were viewed back in the 60s.

The ad, for Goodyear tyres, decides to focus on how driving is a confusing and exhausting process for women but thanks to the resistance and strength of their product, they can just about manage a trip to the airport.

It's adverts like this that made Thelma & Louise drive off that cliff...
