The don of steakhouses

Thanks to Ikea, when we think of Swedish food we think of meatballs, potatoes and gravy, served with a side-dish of Scandinavian minimalism. Griffins Steakhouse Extraordinaire, recently opened in Stockholm’s new Waterfront Building, is set to change all that.

Designed by Gothenburg-based décor experts Stylt and led by creative director Erik Nissen Johansen, the unique restaurant is set to put Stockholm on the gastronomic map.

Hosted by imaginary couple the Griffins who have a penchant for mysticism and alchemy, the eclectic dining room and bar of the American-style steakhouse is crammed with luxurious velvet-upholstered furniture, intricate chandeliers and keepsakes from the worlds of travel and science.

All that plus steak for supper? We'll be on the next flight.
