The Death Metal Mary Poppins

Item one: A very cheerful disposition. Item two: Rosy cheeks. Item three: A strong guttural death metal bellow.

Given its harmful levels of joy, cheer and pep, you wouldn't think Richard and Robert Sherman's singalong classic Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (yes, we Googled the spelling) would appeal to the sensibilities of the leather-clad metal crowd. There are too many "Um-diddle-diddles" for one thing.

That could all change once Andy Rehfeldt's recording reaches the ears of the moshing world. A talented musician and writer, Rehfeldt played and recorded each instrument in this dark, gothic take on the Disney staple, while Sera Hatchett and Thomas Hinds lend throat-splitting vocals. Synced with the film's original rendition of the song, it makes for a spectacular mashup.

Rumour has it that the entire Mary Poppins soundtrack is now set to be covered by Napalm Death. Sure, we might have started this rumour, but they've all got to start somewhere?
