The Beatles beetles

While the opportunity to operate outside of the classroom was always a luxury, the eventual alternatives offered up by school trips were generally pretty dire.

Coupled with the decaying museum-y smell, the chance to peruse exhibits of dead insects and the like was never particularly attractive at the age of 10. Live ones, well that would've been a different story.

Riffing on the traditionally rather dry (in both meanings of the term) insect specimens you might see at the Natural History Museum, Matt MacGregor Glen has created a Beatles one-off. Get it? Beatles? Beetles? Yeah, you've got it.

He uses customised miniature railway people to depict the four Liverpudlians, who are then pinned inside a frame. It's a one-off but he's willing to sell it for a "silly amount of money". Click here if you're silly enough.
