The Abyss Coffee Table

The Abyss Coffee Table

The Abyss Coffee Table
03 July 2014

Someone tell James Cameron we’ve found that new coffee table he’s been looking for.

What are the odds? We can only begin to imagine how excited the underwater-obsessive and director of The Abyss would be about, well, The Abyss, a stunning 3D-looking piece of furniture that’s as much an art instillation as it is a shelf for your brews.

One year in the making, the gorgeous beast has been crafted by London’s Duffy studio, using sophisticated glass layering techniques (the darker the surface area, the thicker the layers added) to give the remarkable effect of a geological cross-section of sea.

Handily, the Perspex construction has been sculpted using sustainable materials kind to the environment, with only 25 models editions made.

We wouldn’t advise you go into The Abyss, though. You’d be asking for a sore knee.
