The 60mph wooden roller coaster

While we love working here at ShortList (honest), there's no day in the office that we wouldn't replace with a day at a theme park.

When is a day on a roller coaster ever a bad thing? Oh and we're not accepting "when it crashes" for reasons of total denial.

Which is why we'd quite happily take a quick flight over to Germany this very day if we could. Europa Park, based in Baden Baden, has just unleashed a brand new ride which combines classic wooden tracks with intimidating speeds of up to 100 km/hr (60mph).

The new structure is also 40 metres high and can reach a strength of 3.5 g's. In other words, it's faster than Nemesis and that's all you need to know.

Tickets are being booked as we type.
