Stunning GIFs make street art come to life

At the risk of sounding like Optimus Prime, there really is more than meets the eye with these GIFs.

Spanish artist A.L Crego has gone and brought urban art to life, taking already stunning pieces of sprayed on imagery and turning them into digital fodder - the scamp.

Not only that, he’s added his own flourishes, giving the pieces of street art an extra layer of depth, of heartbeat, of 'bullshit'. Just take the two people holding hands and chatting to one another. A mural and a half.

But don’t fear, Crego hasn’t gone all renegade in his approach. He always gets permission from the original artists of the works, even keeping them informed of the direction of the animation. Whichm in football terms, make the graffiti artists playmaker Xavi and striker Crego Diego Costa. Teamwork of the highest order basically.

Street art just got all 21st century.
