Photographs can be fairly predictable. If it's a self-portrait than you can guarantee that either sunglasses or a pout will be included, if it's a group shot then at least one person will have at least one eye closed and if it's a landscape you can assume that it's one of many shots that will never be seen again.
Deliberately subverting our expectations, Thomas Herbrich manipulates photographs to deliver a variety of epic surprises.
Herbrich combines a mixture of handcrafted models, stock imagery and digital manipulation to create his spectacular shots. In other words, each picture takes an awful lot of time to get right.
So appreciate them, okay?
