Speakers to blow your music

There’s no point having an ace digital music collection – and we’re not going to get into the thorny issue of how you came by it at this point – if you haven’t got a decent pair of speakers to do Janelle Monae’s The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III), all those Leonard Cohen ditties and the latest brain-melting cosmic disco re-edits justice.

Praise be then for Joey Roth’s ace ceramic speakers. Not only do they look astounding – all those ergonomic curves and understated excellence – they will have even the most pedantic audiophile craving its crystal clear sound.

The speakers themselves are made from porcelain, cork and Baltic birch, while the amp is constructed from stainless steel sheet metal, with a cast iron base.

Designed for use with all MP3 players, computers and other high-fangled technologically advanced musical gizmos, the speakers also come into their own when hooked up with a turntable and a pre-amp.

So, a dual package to suit both the tech-savvy and old-school music fan, and all for $495 (roughly £310). Job done we’d say.
