Tubes, one of the stars of TV’s Soccer AM, has praised staff and surgeons after he suffered an unexpected heart attack.
The 35-year-old, real name Peter Dale, has been recovering at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey.
Explaining that there is still ‘plenty of work to do’ as he makes his recovery, the presenter said without the great work of hospital staff and surgeons he might not even be alive.
Tubes has been involved with Soccer AM for more than a decade, taking part in regular features on the Saturday morning TV staple.
A popular figure on the show, he has been involved in studio segments and regular interviews during his time there.
In the last couple of years he opened up about his struggles with alcohol addiction, and revealed he has been sober since 2016.
Recently he has interviewed various Premier League players and managers, and many big names showed their support after hearing the news.
Fellow Sky Sports regular and ex-footballer Chris Kamara wished him a speedy recovery over Twitter, as did TV presenter Ben Shephard, Olympic medallist Katharine Merry, the official Chelsea FC account and more.
Get well soon Tubes!
