He pretty much had it sewn up anyway, but an appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show put any lingering doubts in our head to rest.
Continuing his victory lap as he celebrates his final year as President, he slow jammed the news with Fallon, ably accompanied by backing band The Roots, going through his achievements and struggles while in office.
Amongst the many hilarious moments were references to the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) which ensured that there would be plenty of jobs - and work, work, work, work, work - for Americans, a confirmation that There will be no third term. “Now, Mr President, since you’re here, I’ve got to ask: Have you been watching all the election coverage this week about Donald Trump?” sang Fallon.
“No, but I have been watching my new favorite show, Orange Is Not the New Black,” replied Obama.
