Music icon fandom reversed

Band t-shirts are a tricky business for the fashion conscious. Some can be worn ironically (The Monkees), while others are deemed worthy thanks to the greatness of their band's legacy (Bowie, The Beatles, Queen). Some should just be binned (we're looking at you, Take That 1998 tour).

But what if the icons of music where able to dip into the bands of their own legacy? What if they could celebrate the spawn of their own fandom? That's the premise of the brilliant Reversed Music Icons Fandom project by Brazilian artist Butcher Billy.

As Billy explains, "This is a series that reverses the natural course of pop culture hierarchy - the influencer will sport the shirt of the influenced - completely messing with space time continuum", raising the question of whether these icons would support those new acts inspired by their legacy. Well, would they?
