There's no telling what we'd do just to get behind the wheel of our dream car. But build it from scratch? Nah.

However, that's exactly what 28-year-old Wang Jian has done. He constructed his very own homemade Lamborghini Reventon. Also known as one of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world.

Wang, who's from eastern China's Jiangsu Province loved cars from an early age and when he was 16 decided to train as a mechanic. Then after working at an auto shop for 10 years he opened his own business to build a unique motor of his own.

Using a mini model of a Reventon to help him build the life-size version, in May 2011 he bought a second hand Volkswagen, re-welded the chassis and relocated the engine from the front to the rear.

Altogether he spent just £6,000 (60,000 Yuan) building the banger, saving the £1.01 million a Reventon costs.

Rather disappointingly, he can’t drive the car on the streets because he is unable to get a licence for it. Instead he now uses it to transport fertiliser.
