OK, I just want to get something out of the way nice and early here - this article is stupid.
You are not going to come away from this knowing more about politics or science or literature. Your mind will not be enriched. You will not even learn a useless piece of information that will prove incredibly useful for roughly eight seconds of your life in two years time when it comes up as the answer to a pub quiz question. No, this is Not News, and you will learn nothing.
However, it is quite funny, and on this day - the anniversary of Donald Trump’s election, no less - surely a laugh is worth something?

While some very smug people knew it was a cotton field all along, the majority of us have been caught out.
