Knockout of the year?

In the world of knockout punches the semi-conscious man is king. And that man isn't Paul Williams.

Poor Paul is the man people are saying was on the receiving end of the finest boxing swing of 2010, thrown by Sergio Martinez.

Martinez retained his WBC middleweight championship belt when he threw a colossal left hook that sent Williams directly to sleepy town.

"I just got caught with a good punch," Williams said. "That's all. I knew it was going to be a tough fight."

Before the fight reports had suggested that the winner would fight either Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"I plan to have three or more fights before I retire," Martinez said. "I'd like one of them to be against Pacquiao or Mayweather."

We doubt they're hoping the same.
