Three 'It's Always Sunny' stars are making a brand new sitcom

Heyooooooo!

Three 'It's Always Sunny' stars are making a brand new sitcom
08 September 2017

Fans of canned wine, rum ham and salting snails were probably dismayed by the news that the long-running (mis)adventures of the frankly disgusting proprietors of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Paddy’s Pub would be put on a hiatus following its 12th season.

Kaitlin Olson, who plays Dee in the show, told reporters earlier this year that the 13th season had been indefinitely “pushed back” because “we’re all busy with separate projects this year”. Booooooo.

But never fear: some of The Gang, at least, are back.

Deadline has reported that Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney – otherwise known as Charlie, Dennis and Mac – will be starring in a new Fox comedy, Cool Kids. It’s a “multi-camera comedy”, apparently, set in a retirement home.

It’s been written by Charlie Day and Paul Fruchbom and will have Kevin Abbott, who produced Golden Girls, as showrunner.

Cool Kids revolves around three guy friends in a retirement community who are the top dogs until they’re blown out of the water by the newest member of the community, a female rebel who’s ready to challenge their place,” Deadline reports.

“It’s high school for 70 somethings.”

What we’re imagining? Three distinctly Frank-esque elderly characters being horrible trolls. And we’re definitely on board.
