The Bicycle of Death: not a ride you’d take lightly at a mainstream theme park, let alone one which asks you to do the pedalling yourself.

We're finding it hard to ignore the health and safety risks of Ai Pioppi, a rusting theme park sat just north of Venice where guests have long been tasked with providing the kinetic energy to power their rides. If there's a reason you haven't heard about it, that's down to it being a ludicrous concept.

And now thanks to British presenter Tom Scott, whose panic laden experience on The Bicycle of Death has been captured on camera, we now have a first-person look at what it’s like to experience this Mad Max-meets-Disney World venue.

We’ll be honest, the fact that our man ends up bleeding does our chances of visiting in the future no favours at all. Though if we are ever to go on this ride, we’re taking Bradley Wiggins with us.
