Tempting as it is, bounding onto a playground as a fully grown adult runs the risk of being wedged halfway down a slide followed by the undignified wait for firemen to release you with their ginormous metal cutters.

But that’s not to say we should let kids have all the fun. Especially now Höweler + Yoon Architecture has got in on the act, creating Swing Time, a set of 20 illuminated swings on a patch of Boston parkland designed to encourage movement of both adults and kids alike out of the city.

But mainly big kids, as this Tron playground is just part of a government mission to persuade tech companies in moving towards this upcoming and underused area, with officials hoping it might provide the platform for an East Coast answer to Silicon Valley. And they could well be onto a winner.

Because, let’s face it, if anything is going to attract coding nerds, it’s not money, power or women, it’s glow-in-the-dark hammocks.
