Futuristic living

Casa Fez in Porto, Portugal, may well be our dream residence. According to architect Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira, the impressive pad - which he created for himself - was the work of his life. We can see why.

With a whopping six years between planning and completion, the architect got involved in every little detail – not just planning, coordinating and supervising the construction, but also designing the interiors and hand crafting the tiniest details down to the doorknobs. He even contributed some of the paintings.

Although the striking white boxy-structure, natural light, wooden floors and stark, unadorned windows could hardly be described as cosy, the architect has successfully added a personal touch via historial and timeless pieces inherited from his design-savvy family.
