Fox News went after Denmark and they responded brilliantly

Don't mess with the Danes and expect to get away with it

Fox News went after Denmark and they responded brilliantly
16 August 2018

Newsflash: Fox News is on the warpath again. What we’ve got this time is host Trish Regan banging on about Denmark and spouting a whole torrent of uninformed nonsense about the way they handle their business.

In a nutshell, she reckons they’re lazy, saying:

“Denmark, like Venezuela, has stripped people of their opportunities.

“Nobody is incentivized to do anything because they’re not going to be rewarded.”

Here’s her bonkers rant in full:

But hey, Denmark ain’t gonna take this in the spirit of hygge - there’s a retort to be made.

And a retort it was. Made. A retort was made. From Denmark’s finance minister Kristian Jensen:

He also told the New York Times:

“Denmark ranks 12 in economic freedom, Venezuela ranks 179. It’s simply egregious.

“It made me angry to see such an erroneous image of Denmark. Trish can think whatever she wants about Denmark, but on a factual basis.”

Oh, and he called for backup, too. Specifically from Dan Jørgensen, the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, who went ahead and took her down, bit by bit, in this truly glorious video:

This is good. Good when this happens, when someone makes things up and the facts are thrown back in their face. Really enjoyable.

Anyway, in the spirit of fairness, here’s her backtracking response:

“I DIDN’T SAY THAT I MEANT THE OTHER THING NO YOU HEARD IT WRONG ACTUALLY NO IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE I MEANT BUT THEN I…”

Hmmm, this really reminds us of something
