Elephant Takes A Selfie

We forget what they say about elephants, but it might be something like "an elephant never passes up an opportunity to play with a smartphone". Yes, that's it.

Which is probably why, as you may have already apprehended from the picture below, you’re looking at the world’s first ‘elfie’, snapped by a 22-year-old African elephant known as Latabe, after one visitor to the West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire dropped his iPhone.

That man was Scott Bradley, enjoying a day at the park when his smartphone took a tumble into the drive-thru elephant zone, leaving him powerless to get out of the car to pick it up. Happily, once returned, rather than smashed up, he found that the animal had been busy trying out the device.

Not that he's the first audacious animal to snap himself a selfie, as you may have seen here.
