Donald Trump said in an interview that he thought being president would “be easier”

Yeah so did I

Donald Trump said in an interview that he thought being president would “be easier”
28 April 2017

So, Donald Trump is coming up to his first 100 days in office, which is obviously terrifying news for all involved (me, you, everyone), and to “celebrate” he had a chat with Reuters. As is the norm with Trumpy, this obviously involved some zingers.

The main one being:

"I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier."

He thought being president would be easier. Easy. Being president would be easy. Easier than being a billionaire who doesn’t do anything anymore.

I’ve heard – I’m not sure if it’s true though – that being the president of one of the largest nations on earth is quite an important job. It supposedly comes with quite a lot of responsibility – there’s not much down-time. Lots of things to be getting on with. But Trump thought it would be easy, which is a great indicator of how serious he is about the whole shebang.

He also complained about a lack of privacy – mate, you’re the president:

“You're really into your own little cocoon, because you have such massive protection that you really can't go anywhere.”

He compared it to the lack of privacy he had in his “old life”, but said it was even more restrictive. I mean, I really don’t know what he expected – Might just stroll down the 7-Eleven, pick up some hoagies, back in a sec.

Oh, and:

“I like to drive. I can't drive any more.”

Poor old Donny, not being able to drive when he’s got the lives of billions of people in his tiny hands.

So basically, what we can glean from this is that Trump is probably regretting the whole presidency thing, because, you know, he has absolutely zero clue what is going on.

Oh well, at least he doesn’t have access to anything important. No weapons or anything. Phew.
