Drinking too much Coke can reduce your sperm count by an insane amount

Did you know that in 1927, the official US and UK slogan for Coca-Cola was "Pure as Sunlight"? And 49 years later in 1976, it was "Coke adds life". Meanwhile in Russia, "Coca-Cola is going to the house!" was chosen to represent the brand in 2010.

But it's not the last of these examples that is the most ridiculous, or spouts the most nonsense. A shocking study from Copenhagen University Hospital has found that Coke most definitely does not "add life", but instead could be making you infertile.

The study analysed 2,554 men who claimed to be addicted to Coke, and found they had an average sperm count of 35 million per millilitre, compared to the 56 million per millilitre in men who drank less of the drink. Whilst a sperm count of 35 million still falls within the normal range, it does put you at more risk of eventually becoming infertile.

In layman's terms, this all means that drinking one litre of Coke a day could reduced your sperm count by a massive 30 per cent.

But that's not all. Previous studies have also found that Coke increases your risk of erectile dysfunction. Scientists at the Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Professor Franciszek Lukaszczyk Memorial Hospital in Poland, discovered that a sweetener in fizzy drinks could damage arteries in the penis, meaning blood flows less freely in the area.

On the plus side, at least Coca-Cola's 2017 slogan should be interesting.
