Doctor Who Crochet

When Time Lord meets time consuming hobbies

Doctor Who Crochet
17 April 2011

With the arts and crafts movement back in full swing, it seems the notoriously overzealous fans of Doctor Who have wasted little time in taking to their needles and hooks to immortalise the Doctors in all of their woollen glory.

We thought nothing knitted could scream ‘retro’ more than Granny Squares, until we saw Tom Baker in crocheted form, complete with the iconic scarf around his neck and the crazed look in his eyes.

From William Hartnell to Matt Smith, none of the eleven doctors have been left without a cuddly crocheted counterpart and, disturbing as they may be, we have to admit they are pretty impressive.

Despite the slightly shoddy Tardis and the fact Peter Davison looks slightly more effeminate than usual - the dolls would still make the perfect addition to any fanatic's already bulging collection of Doctor Who paraphernalia.

And even if you’re not a fan of Doctor Who or knitted dolls you can surely still appreciate the pure hilarity of their existence.
