Buzz Aldrin has a message for B.o.B and his flat Earth theory

Been there, proved that wrong

Buzz Aldrin has a message for B.o.B and his flat Earth theory
04 October 2017

For a man who once hat a hit tune about airplanes and shooting stars, B.o.B really doesn’t know much about space.

The American hip-hop star is a rabid believer in the flat Earth theory, as has been vocal about it since 2015, when he wrote on social media: “No matter how high in elevation you are… the horizon is always eye level… sorry cadets… I didn’t wanna believe it either. Don’t believe what I say, research what I say. I’m going up against the greatest liars in history… you’ve been tremendously deceived.”

Now, the flat Earth theory is one I just can’t really understand - not only because the Earth being flat makes literally zero sense, but also because I can’t see what anyone has to gain by pretending it’s round if it actually isn’t? Where’s the conspiracy here? What, exactly, would the bigwigs be trying to hide?

That hasn’t stopped B.o.B though, who is so convinced by the theory that he has set up a crowdfunder to build a spaceship and prove it once and for all.

His initial target was to raise $200,000, which again shows the extent of B.o.B’s knowledge about space if he thinks that’ll even get him airborne, let alone into the stratosphere, but he has now raised it to $1 million, of which he has so far managed to scrape in… $5,076. Almost there!

Not wanting B.o.B to spunk his hard-earned five grand up the wall, some kindly astronauts have stepped in to try and convince the 28-year-old that really, honestly, the Earth is spherical - including Terry Virts and the one and only Buzz Aldrin, both of whom have flown right round the thing.

Then Scott Kelly, another American astronaut who has commanded the International Space Station on three separate expeditions, posted a video showing the curvature of the Earth. Surely all this would be enough to convince B.o.B to give it all up, right?

Not a chance. He has continued to post flat Earth memes and messages on social media, and is seemingly still determined to make his way into space to truly find out for himself.

Now, I can’t help but think that this could all be one extremely smart hustle from B.o.B - maybe he just really wants to go to space, and is using this shtick to try and get someone to eventually take him up there, in the name of disproving the theory once and for all.

If this is the case, then fair play to the man. If not, well, please just listen to Buzz.
