Breakfasts from the 80s

Imagining a much cooler childhood

Breakfasts from the 80s
17 April 2011

Our cereal choice as kids was fairly uninspired. While that cool kid next door enjoyed a daily dose of Lucky Charms, we were usually offered own-brand Corn Flakes or Weetabix without sugar.

If only our childhood had been designed by Ian Glaubinger.

His vision of cereals promoting iconic 80s films leaves us with a bittersweet look into a past that never was. If only we'd been allowed the chocolate and marshmallow heaven of Ghostbusters or the fruit flavoured flakes of The Goonies.

Truth is, if these cereals had been the breakfast fodder of our youth then we'd probably be suffering from severe cholesterol issues by now.

You can see more of Ian's designs here.
