Bournemouth Chairman Offers Fan Out/In

Say what you will about Delia Smith's inebriated on pitch rant back in February 2005, but the Norwich City bigwig was essentially trying to do a positive thing.

The same cannot be said of Bournemouth boss Eddie Mitchell who offered a fan out (or is that 'in', when you're already outside?) when confronting the terraces with a microphone, this weekend.

The Cherries find themselves second from bottom in League One with just three points from seven games and supporters stayed behind after Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Chesterfield to vent their frustration.

This prompted club chairman Mitchell to take the field with a microphone, only to be drowned out with chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' and 'come back when you're sober'.

With diplomacy failing Mitchell suggested he and a fan sort it out in other ways: "The lad in the leather jacket whose eyes seem to be popping out of his head... Why don't you jump over the fence and come and have a chat with me? Come on then. One to one."

Interesting choice...

And for those who fancy another butchers at celebrity cook Delia Smith's rallying cry...
