A celebration of beer

Whether you’re a beer buff or amateur ale admirer there’s something for everyone at BrewFest, Meantime Brewing Company’s three-day celebration of craft beer in London.

Three main bars will represent beer from the capital, Europe and the US respectively, offering 100 different ales (including ShortLists very own Fool's Gold) and and Meantime sommeliers including Jack Stones, the UK’s youngest beer expert, will be hosting expert discussions at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm. The topics will cover ‘The rise of craft beer in the USA’, ‘History of brewing in London and Greenwich’ and ‘Development of Modern European Brewing’.

Make sure you don’t miss #hopharvest, Meantime’s newly launched interactive harvesting hops Kinect game. The top scorer at the end of every fifteen minutes wins a pint.

BrewFest takes place on 31 July and 3-4 August at Old Brewery, Pepys Building, the Old Naval College, SE10 and entry is free. However, to maximise your time there you’d be advised to buy a BrewFest voucher now, given they’re £12 in advance, compared to £15 on the day. With your voucher, you’ll get:

  • A programme and tasting notes of all the beers
  • Meantime branded glass
  • 6 beer tokens (1/3rd pints)
  • 1 food token

Additional beer tokens (1/3rd pints) can be bought for £4.80 for three tokens or £9 for six tokens. The food available will represent the areas the craft beers are sourced as follows:

  • USA: Chilli & corn chips
  • Europe: Drei im Wickla (Nuremburg sausage and mustard in a bun)
  • London: Pie, mash & liquor

These are £4.80 each or one food token.

Those who take their beer seriously will be in for a treat, as will those thirsty to learn more about the craft of beer-making.
