While Nicholas Cage’s acting is often as wooden as a walnut dash, there's simply no denying he looked a true star behind the wheel of the hulking Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in the 2000 film Gone In 60 Seconds.

And now you could follow suit, as the 1967 car, better known as ‘Eleanor’ and just one of three working versions of the vehicle made for North Hollywood’s Cinema Vehicle Services, is looking for a home. It’s going up for auction at the Mecum auction block in August.

In joining the ranks of classic movie Mustangs, there comes the obvious snag: the price. Another version recently sold for $1m, meaning you might need the financial power of a movie star to be able to afford the car, packed with custom body kit, fender flares, side exit exhaust, Ford Racing 351 CI crate motor and a vintage 4-speed transmission.

But don't feel too down if you don't get to throttle this beauty around in the near future - the upcoming 2015 Ford Mustang looks set to be one of the finest yet, and will even get a debut European release for the first time when it roars in next year. Pulses should be racing already.
