David Harbour dancing with penguins is the most uplifting thing you'll see all day
21 February 2018

When Chief Hopper from Stranger Things tweeted about wanting to go to the Antarctic and dance with penguins, the internet listened.

Actor David Harbour tweeted Greenpeace a month ago today asking how many retweets he would need to get in order to visit the penguins (or the ‘guins, as he affectionately refers to them) and ‘tell the emperor penguin couples I think they have terrific parenting ideologies? Maybe hone the Hopper dance with the males…’

Greenpeace replied and set the bar at 200k retweets, at which point Harbour pleaded with his followers. He hit the target in just five hours, and lo, the trip was set.

Yesterday he posted a series of videos of himself in the Antarctic surrounded by his beloved ‘guins, and in between serious messages about saving the planet, danced with (at) them just like Chief Hopper did in his heart warming scene in the Netflix hit. So now you can’t feel sad about anything for at least a week.

He used his now iconic dancing skills to highlight the current Greenpeace petition to protect the Antarctic, which currently stands at one million signatures, in an effort to raise that number to 1.8 million. You can sign it here. Then watch this video again.
