Try a kitchen cupboard classic

Spice up your summer with a classic Smirnoff Bloody Mary

Try a kitchen cupboard classic
04 June 2014

We all have our spin on a classic, be it a full English breakfast or a cup of tea. Take the Bloody Mary: a classic drink with more twists than a Lee Child novel. One twist we like: it doesn't have to be complicated. Smirnoff's recipe is easy - you'll have all the ingredients in your kitchen cupboard.

Check out the video above and watch as Smirnoff barman Frankie Campopiano demonstrates a quick and easy guide to create the classic Bloody Mary.

THE INGREDIENTS:

  • 50ml of Smirnoff
  • 100-150ml tomato juice
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • 1tbsp Tabasco
  • 1tbsp Lea & Perrins
  • 1tbsp Brown sauce
  • Celery and a wedge of lime to garnish

THE METHOD:

Step 1 Fill a Kilner jar (or jam jar) with ice.

Step 2 Pour in the Smirnoff, tomato juice, lemon, Tabasco sauce, Lea & Perrins, Brown sauce, plus salt and pepper.

Step 3 Close the lid and roll gently to mix (shaking will make your tomato foamy).

Step 4 Add garnishes.
