If we had a nickel for every time a celebrity was kicked off a plane then we'd have a lot of nickels.
Last night, 30 Rock comeback kid Alec Baldwin had the dubious honour of joining that list of misfits.
He had boarded an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York but was removed before it even got in the air. So, what was the reason, you cry? Booze? Violence? Sexy stuff? All wrong.
In fact, Baldwin was kicked off for playing Words with Friends on his iPad. He tweeted the following:
"Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving."
He also mocked up the following picture:
A Twitter rant continued at the airline with Baldwin starting the hashtag #theresalwaysunited as he vowed to never fly with American Airlines again. He also referred to their flight attendants as "retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's". The ailing company tweeted back at the actor to say that they would be looking into what happened.
As mentioned, he's not the only celebrity to have suffered from plane removal syndrome. Here are some other harrowing examples:
Earlier this year, Gerard Depardieu was on a flight from Paris which was preparing for take-off. After being denied the opportunity to go to the toilet, he urinated in a bottle and on the aisle. He later explained to Anderson Cooper that he's an "elephant" who has "a lot of pee".
