It's a Saturday night: one of you wants a pizza, the other a curry. An argument ensues. Tears are shed. But if you lived in Sri Lanka, all this would be unncessary. For Sri Lanka is the home of the Birizza.
And the Birizza is a phenomenal combination of pizza, with a biriyani. See how they've done the same with the name. Consistency.
In detail, the dish comprises biriyani rice covered with a layer of pizza crust, with two options: the Chicken Birizza, with chunks of spicy chicken, or a Vegetarian Birizza with soft cubes of paneer, and vegetables. Both come with a spicy gravy and fresh onion sambol.
The dish had briefly been on the menu previously, but popular demand has forced Pizza Hut to bring it back. The campaign to launch this in the UK starts now - and, while we're at it, how about a Vindizza, or a Baltizza? The possibilities are endless.
