The biggest problem with Subway sandwiches might finally be fixed

Ever seen a depressed person eating a Happy Meal?

Of course you haven't, it's impossible.

But while some fast food lives up to its name, that's not the case over at Subway. A continued source of debate (in case you hadn’t noticed while wolfing down a chicken teriyaki on hearty Italian bread) there's a longheld belief that Subway’s ‘footlong’ sandwiches might not actually be 12-in long

It proved so irksome for 10 customers over in the US back in 2013, that they launched a class action lawsuit to sue the sandwich chain over false advertising.

Three years later, the fast food giant has reached a settlement with the group, offering each of the 10 people $500 (that’d buy a few meal deals), and stating that it intends to spend the next four years putting a measuring device in all stores to ensure the bread measures up.

So the next time you’re slobbering over a footlong and feeling immediately guilty at the number of calories you're consuming, at least you’ll know you’re getting exactly what you’re paying for. A major consumer victory.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Subway will also have to stump up over half a million dollars in legal fees following the lawsuit.

Now that really is a lot of dough.
