The $2,000 pasta dish

The $2,000 pasta dish

How much would you pay for a plate of really good pasta? We're making a huge assumption here but we're guessing it's probably a lot less than what you'd pay for a month's rent. Right?

Well over at high-end New York eaterie BiCE, they are offering a $2,000 (£1,240) dish that promises to be the most luxurious Italian meal you'll ever have. Possibly the most stressful too.

And now to the specifics.

The meal is made up of tagliolini pasta, two pounds of lobster, organic vegetables and, obviously, black truffles. But the extravagance isn't just restricted to the food. The dish is served on a gold-leaf plate designed by Gianni Versace, which you get to keep.

The staggering price tag also includes fried calamari, a portion of veal and chocolate mousse so actually, maybe it's not that steep after all.

Yeah we're kidding, it's ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as the fact that people are actually paying it. True fact.

Would you give it a try?
