Michelin Restaurant app arrives

Since smartphones started finding their way into our pockets, app stores have been littered with numerous eatery hunters - some good, most bad, but all now inferior thanks to the arrival of the Michelin Restaurants app.

Released in conjunction with the group's annual restaurant guide, the free app allows users to browse those restaurants deemed to be worthy of the highly coveted Michelin star. Menu details, special offers, experiences and pricing options are listed, along with a 'Click-to-book' service powered by the app's parter Bookatable.

Should your budget not stretch to the heady heights of fine dining, the app also has details for those restaurants awarded the Bib gourmand standard by the Michelin group, all of which serve ‘good cooking at moderate prices’. In all, 2,000 top-of-the-table restaurants appear on the app, all bookable with one click.

All of which means it's finally time to bin that towering pile of takeaway menus. You can download it for free from iTunes (no Android version yet).
