KFC Japan To Sell Deep Fried Soup

National stereotype fans, look away now - there's a deep fried foodstuff coming out that's not made in Scotland.

Have you ever been sat at the dinner table, eating soup, thinking 'This is fine, but the experience would be a whole lot better if I could hold this meal in my hands'. No? Well, to be perfectly honest, neither have we. However, the Asian equivalent of Colonel Sanders clearly has, as deep-fried soup is actually going to be a thing in Japanese KFC restaurants.

Available in for a limited time from 5th September, the soup fritter is made from corn potage, a regular fixture in Japanese cafes, and then deep-fried until blanketed with fatty/delicious batter. Describing the cooking process of their not-quite haute cuisine, KFC said “We bread the corn potage and cook it to a crisp.” Tasty.

Reports of furious Scottish men rifling through their cupboards in hope of finding something even more ridiculous to slather in batter remain, as yet, unconfirmed.
