There's good news for Better Call Saul fans

It's showtime, folks!

There's good news for Better Call Saul fans
16 March 2016

Unlike the show itself, we're going to cut right to the chase: Better Call Saul has been renewed for a third season.

The pleasingly slow-paced show, which focuses on the pre-Breaking Bad life of Jimmy McGill, as he moves towards his Saul Goodman persona, is currently five episodes into its second season, but consistently strong ratings have led to an early renewal.

Despite the first season itself being hugely anticipated on the back of the huge success of Breaking Bad, the premiere of the second season managed to pull in 22% more viewers than the premiere of the first; a truly impressive feat. Subsequent episodes have continued to attract good ratings.

Like both of its current series, the third run will be comprised of ten episodes - and creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould will once again return as executive producers and showrunners.

The AMC network president Charlie Collier commented, “What Vince, Peter, Bob and the entire team have accomplished with Better Call Saul is truly rare and remarkable. They have taken one of the most iconic, immersive and fan-obsessive (in the best possible way) shows in television history and created a prequel that stands on its own.”

The news is sure to ignite debate about which Breaking Bad characters will now be able to weave their way into the storyline. One old favourite returned this week; will Jesse or Walter make an appearance? We'll soon find out.
